SALIX helvetica

"Swiss" willow is native to the Alps. This willow copes with much drier soils. Compact and low maintenance shrub with bare stems covered with cigar shaped silver white catkins, yellow pollen to follow. The linear grey leaves look good through summer. Sun to semi shade. Copes with wet soils.
